please help someone!

I am doing my first build - so far the cpu, fan & ram fitted, all fine no real problems..

but when placing the motherboard into the case I noticed raised screw holes that lined up with the board -- after fitting the brass placers the motherboard was raised so high that I couldn't fit the sockets to the back panel and the graphics card can't be screwed into place... without the spacers it all fits fine and nothing on the back of the board touches the case (as far as I can see).

this is a pain.. Mad

please someone must have an idea... I am fitting into a Sharkoon Rebel 9 ECONOMY case, and screw holes are raised about a centimeters from the case base without the spacers.

Did the standoffs come with the case or the motherboard? If it came with the motherboard, you probably dont need them. Did you check the case's website/instructions?
