Well, I've already looked around many places and picked out all that I'm getting.
Here's what i got from newegg:
AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512KB L2 Cache, Socket 939 64-bit Processor - Retail $153
Thermaltake VA3000 Dream Tower Black VA3000BWA ATX Case with Transparent X type side panel window -RETAIL $130
Silent TT-550SS Power Supply $55
DFI "LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D" NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra Chipset Motherboard For AMD Socket 939 CPU -RETAIL $137
EVGA nVIDIA GeForce 6600GT Video Card, 128MB GDDR3, 128-Bit, DVI/TV-Out, PCI-Express, Model "128-P2-N368-TX" -RETAIL $183
Kingmax SuperRAM Series Dual Channel Kit 184-Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200, Model MPXD42D-2 - Retail $82 after MIR
Now that I've chosen all my parts, I want to know where/how I should start building it. Im asking because I don't want to mess anything up. If you could link me to a step by step guid that would be great and tell me what you think of the build.
PS: If your wondering I already have 17"LCD, 160gb Maxtor HD, Keyboard, Mouse, Nec DVD/CD rw.

| Start at your motherboard. The manual should give you a pretty good idea on what needs to happen and in what order. As for where to build, garages, cement or hardwood floors are the best spot for building since you can not build up a static shock as easily and fry your electronics.

I finished my first build recently. I started by getting a cheap anti-static wrist strap that I could latch onto the back of my case (I used the honeycomb mesh where the exhaust fan is, it held rather well), which I guess worked out because I was building on a carpeted floor and I didn't fry anything. Just touch the back of the case to discharge electricity anyways before you do anything in there for further safety precautions.
I started with the motherboard and installed the processor, thermal paste, heatsink, and CPU fan first, then I put the motherboard in the case and hooked the fans to it, as well as the case's power button and any LEDs. Be sure to put the spacers in the case before you put the motherboard in it. Next, I installed the RAM, then the power supply and connected as many cables as possible. The hardest part for me as a first-timer was trying to work through the morass of connectors sitting there. Next I did the hard drives, connected those, then the 5.25" drive(s)/floppy drive(s) and connected those, and lastly, the PCI-Express/PCI cards. Be sure to replace your case's standard I/O shield with your motherboard's I/O shield before you do anything.
I was totally new to this whole thing and there are a few things you don't want to do, like connecting both a regular power connector and a SATA connector to a SATA hard drive if you happen to use one. Just connect the SATA cable. One of my raptors stopped responding until I realized this problem and quickly fixed it. Also, don't connect 1394 connectors to the USB ports on the motherboard or USB connectors to 1394 ports. As stated, the motherboard manual should help.
Finally, it might be a good idea to use any twisty ties (those plastic bendable things, I don't know the "technical" name) that will probably come with some of your parts to tie some of the connectors out of the way. This will make things easier, make it look a little neater, and reduce airflow disruption.
Hope this helps.
